He is the author of four books: Killing Ground on Okinawa, The Devil's Anvil: The Assault on Peleliu, Squandered Victory: The Battle for St. Mihiel, and Doughboy War: The American Expeditionary Force in World War I. He lives in Portland, Connecticut.
