Telling the truth is a difficult process, especially when it comes to our pasts. I've buried a lot of things along the way and am still trying to find the courage to voice everything I've remembered. Unearthed is a way for me to start speaking more openly and honestly about my experiences and the beliefs they shaped within me. In doing this, I hope to give myself and anyone else who is often silenced by fear the strength to speak up and speak out.

Autorenporträt
Alexis Florentina Williams is a former elementary school teacher originally from Tampa, Florida. She has lived and worked in Indonesia, China and Oman and now resides in the UK with her husband and her dog. Alexis has been published by The Journal of Undiscovered Poets and is currently working on a collection of poems called Back to Birth in which she reflects on the grieving process and her childhood following her mother's death in June 2019. When she is not writing, Alexis enjoys reading, exploring nature and getting lost in bookshops or libraries.
