The one who seeks the indefinable will find no answers here. For their presence is unforeseen and their destiny is unwritten. Destiny deLemain is used to being downtrodden. Orphaned and destitute, growing up under the tyrannical rule of the orphanage Matron, she is shocked to discover that a magical gift lies dormant within her - a gift more powerful than anyone could have imagined. Now she must journey to the capital, leaving her only childhood friend behind, and train under the Sorceress of Kalaav, learning the lore of magic and the prophecies of her world. But the mystery of Destiny's past haunts her, and the truth of who she is has not yet been revealed. For despite her incredible gifts, not a single written prophecy foretold her existence. Destiny must tap into her true potential in order to piece together her past and navigate a new world of palaces and power, squires and sorcery - and decipher a 600-year-old prophecy to boot.
Adele Kemp has been writing since she was seven or eight and daydreaming for even longer. She used to think that becoming an author was a complete and utter impossibility but, to be fair, she hadn't yet met her future self. Now she writes, drinks tea and eats chocolate all day (and no one can stop her). Besides being an actual author (something which she affirms to herself every day), she is also a lover of animals (birds in particular), a tree whisperer, crystal collector, seasonal forager, barefooted garden wanderer and creator of pretty things. She's not exactly a witch, but she definitely isn't not one (unless you meet her on the full moon, when she certainly looks like one).
