It celebrates the faith, perseverance, and unbreakable spirit of a community that continues to shape the soul of the nation. Autorenporträt
Tom Alexander Jr. has spent a lifetime walking alongside history. Raised in rural Mississippi, shaped by the halls of Jackson State University-a proud Historically Black College and University-and forged in service as a combat veteran of the United States Army, Tom brings a rare depth of experience to the stories he tells. Today, as a public-school educator, minister, and devoted father, he continues to uplift the voices of those who came before him and those still fighting to be heard. Through personal relationships with remarkable African Americans-some pioneers in politics, education, and the military-Tom has gathered intimate, authentic narratives that reflect the soul of a resilient community. His doctoral training allows him to weave these stories into powerful themes of faith, perseverance, and legacy. With Unveiling Our Story, Tom invites readers to bear witness to the lives that shaped him and, in doing so, shaped America. His hope is simple yet profound: that these stories are never forgotten, and that they inspire a renewed commitment to honoring and continuing the legacy of a strong Black community within the rich tapestry of American life.
