This book consists of poetry in free verse of a predominately autobiographical nature, with a strong moral and ethical perspective derived in part from the author's Buddhist faith and Judeo-Christian background, and in part from his experience as an environmental governmental attorney, artist and lifelong naturalist and outdoorsman. Native American conservationism and a concern with climate catastrophe were frequently driving forces in the germination of these works. The poems generally have a narrative flow which, in combination with a deliberate use of colloquial expressions, is intended to make reading them a pleasure rather than a chore, as is frequently the case with much contemporary poetry.
