Tetanus vaccination of pregnant women is an essential public health strategy for preventing maternal and neonatal tetanus, a fatal but preventable disease. This book provides an in-depth analysis of the factors influencing vaccination coverage among pregnant women in Burkina Faso. The study is based on a rigorous methodology, combining quantitative and qualitative data to identify the social, economic, cultural and institutional determinants that promote or hinder uptake of this vaccination. Geographical accessibility to health services, the use of health services and the influence of socio-cultural beliefs and norms are among the main areas addressed.
