The year is 258 EE. A little more than 258 years after the Earth Evacuation. The inhabitants of earth have established colonies in the Cerulis district of the Virgo Supercluster, post the meteor strike that rendered earth uninhabitable. A few small planets in the galaxy have been discovered that sustain carbon life forms. Advanced Renewable Energy Systems (ARES) provide reliable power to the planets, but water is the limitation factor. Due to the lack of water, livestock is highly regulated and vegetables are the staple food. The habitable planets yield very little water, so water vapor is mined from clouds found in the expanse that exists between celestial bodies. Water barons control the flow of water, and space lanes are filled with cargo ships, mercenaries, and pirates. All in the search for vapor. "Vapor" explores the intersecting lives of space captains, as humanity struggles to exist in unknown worlds.
