Autorenporträt
Roy C Porter was born in Londonderry, Northern Ireland. He worked, first as a sewing machine mechanic and then as an engineering assistant with the Du Pont Company. After twenty-five years of secular employment, Roy and his wife Anne (a midwife) entered missionary work in 1982. As missionaries with a Children's Mission, they travelled extensively throughout Northern Europe and Ireland, eventually setting up a directorship and preaching ministry in the Isle of Man. Roy and Anne retired in 2014 and returned to live in Ireland, where Anne took ill and died. Roy returned to live in the Isle of Man in 2021. For the past years, Roy combined work with writing and had a few books self-published, including 'The Derry Boy' - his life story and 'Once Upon an Egg' - the story of the ministries of Roy, Anne and their families. Roy combined the former books into one, 'The Derry Boy and the Egg'. Other books included 'The Ayre Conspiracy', 'Vapour Trails in the Sky' and a series of bible devotionals entitled 'Your Pathway Through the Wilderness'.
