Autorenporträt
Tunku Halim was born in 1964 and studied law at the University of Sussex, becoming a qualified UK barrister. He has lived in the UK, Australia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Malaysia, and worked as legal counsel for a global IT company before turning to writing. Now the author of twenty books, he has been dubbed "Asia's Stephen King." Drawing on Malay myths, legends, and folklore, his work is widely regarded as "world gothic." His novel Dark Demon Rising was nominated for the 1999 International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award, while his second novel, Vermillion Eye, has been used as a study text in the National University of Singapore's Language and Literature course. He is also a three-time winner of Malaysia's Star-Popular Readers' Choice Award (2015-2017). Tunku enjoys travelling, though he prefers spending time by the sea, doing nothing, and soaking in life at a slower pace.
