Author Lisa Cooksey-Cannon grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. She attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. She served 10 years in the U.S. Army both on active duty, and in the reserves. Lisa was stationed in Germany, Colorado, California and Texas. She spent over 30 years working in the accounting field and retired (again) in 2024 after her spinal cord injury, being an incomplete quadriplegic. She cherishes time with her family, community outreach and volunteering. She loves reading a good book, journaling, completing puzzles, line dancing, attending live concerts and traveling.
