I am a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, who grew up in the 1950s. Upon turning 18, I entered the United States Air Force, including a year in Vietnam. In all, I spent a total of 11 years of service to my country. While in Southeast Asia, I developed a passion for photography, which I still enjoy today. In 2001, I acquired a little pug in Orlando, Florida, and named him Vinny. As a result of the 9-11 Terrorist Attacks, I took my family out west to Phoenix, where Vinny learned to climb and pose atop boulders. 'The Life and Times of Vinny the Pug' is a picture and activity book of my best friend, Vinny.
