This book is a collective work in which sixteen researchers have participated with the aim of analysing violence against women in Spain and Latin America. This form of violence, also known as gender-based violence or sexist violence, has been recognised as a human rights violation that occurs in all regions of the world. The book analyses its impact and consequences in eight Spanish-speaking countries (Spain, Cuba, Peru, Colombia, Nicaragua, Mexico, Argentina and Chile) and shows that it is a structural and multi-causal problem that crosses geographical, economical, cultural and social borders. The global perspective used throughout the work makes violence visible in its different manifestations and provides some keys that could facilitate its elimination
