Our objective in this study was to highlight the impact of social representations on the socio-professional integration of people with visual impairments in the civil service in Burkina Faso. We sought to show that social representations play a key role for visually impaired workers in their working environment. We believe that no one should be stigmatised or marginalised in their workplace for any reason. The aim is to show that everyone in this country has the right to socio-professional integration. This is why we focused on the following research topic: 'Social representations of visual impairment and the socio-professional integration of visually impaired people'. We conducted the research with visually impaired civil servants. The results obtained enable us to establish a link between social representations and the integration of people living with visual impairments in the Burkinabe civil service. The level of integration depends on the type of social representations.
