Vocabulary learning process by secondary school students is today one of the most popular areas of cognitive linguistics. Vocabulary is a set of familiar words in a person's language. Vocabulary, which usually develops with age, serves as a useful and basic tool for communication and knowledge acquisition. Acquiring an extensive vocabulary is one of the biggest challenges when learning a second language. The vocabulary learning strategy plays an important role in the English language acquisition. This study describes the vocabulary learning strategies students used when they learned new words.
