Triest received her Bachelor's in Art for English and Creative Writing from Albion College. She is a painter and has always gravitated toward water scenes. Her landscape art has inspired poems encompassing water-themes as well. Triest was a collegiate runner and enjoys the sounds, smells, and sights of nature.
