Jeanine Jones, born Jeanine Brooks, is a native of Chicago, Illinois. As an educator in an urban school system, she is responsible for educating youth who are challenged in the areas of academics and socioeconomics. Cultural development, the arts, and literacy are important factors in her work. She is continuously striving to develop new strategies that are effective for struggling readers. Her absolute affinity for literature, especially poetry, propels her to teach and constantly learn. As a spoken-word artist, poet, and creative writer, Arts Integration is an essential component of her practice. She attributes her early love of reading and the arts to her parents. They made it possible for her to experience and live life creatively. "Literacy is Life Live!" is her motto. (No value selected)
