Betsy stood outside the barn, looked across the field at all the families, and worried. Adults and children were sitting on brightly colored blankets, spread out in neat rows over the grass that Farmer had cut the day before. Each family had a colorful box next to their blanket. They would reach into the box and choose a bag or can of something, laughing as if they didn't have a care in the world. "What if something happens?" she worried to herself. "Where would everyone go to be safe?" "Hey!" she said, plaintively. "Everyone please, pack up and go home," she begged But no one packed up, or even seemed to understand what she was saying.
