She lives by the Pacific Ocean in White Rock, British Columbia, Canada, where she often writes from her kayak. Carla Maskall is an award-winning artist who has been drawing and painting since she was a child. She likes to take walks, bird watch, and paint outdoors in nature. She draws her inspiration for the illustrations in this book from the beautiful wetlands of the province of British Columbia, Canada. Sherry and Carla have been friends since childhood.
