In every heartbeat, there is a story. In every glance, a memory. When Love Remembers is a collection of short stories that explore the infinite shapes of the human heart: its desire, its longing, its ache, and its quiet triumphs. In every heartbeat, there is a story. In every glance, a memory. When Love Remembers is a collection of short stories that explore the infinite shapes of the human heart: its desire, its longing, its ache, and its quiet triumphs. These tales are not of perfect love. They are of love that burns and fades, love that wounds and heals, love that clings and lets go. From the fleeting spark of lust to the enduring glow of devotion, from the dangerous pull of obsession to the delicate bloom of self-acceptance, each story illuminates a different facet of what it means to feel, to want, and to remember. Soft, reflective, and intimate, these stories are the echoes behind the poems of Why Hearts Remember, giving life to the quiet moments, the unspoken desires, and the lingering truths that poetry can only hint at. Each story invites you into a world where hearts are fragile and fierce, where love is never simple, and where every memory carries its own pulse. Step inside, and let the stories hold you, through the ache, the passion, the joy, and the loss. Let them remind you that love endures, even in the shadows. And when the final page turns, may your own heart remember what it means to feel deeply, endlessly, and without apology.
Autorenporträt
Hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Makitia Thompson is a storyteller who dives headfirst into the human experience, examining the fragile line between triumph and tragedy, the cost of fame, the ache of abandonment, and the shadowed corners of desire. For over a decade, she has crafted fictional autobiographies and interview-style narratives that peel back the polished surfaces of her characters, revealing the truths they'd rather keep buried. As the founder of Minds In Design, Thompson has built a creative hub dedicated to bold, boundary-pushing storytelling. Her company blends literature, visual art, and immersive world-building to challenge audiences to confront uncomfortable realities and discover self-reflection through honesty. Her oil and acrylic paintings often echo the emotional weight of her books, creating a visual bridge between her art forms. Starting her writing journey at just 11 years old, Thompson has spent years refining her craft, always circling back to one question: How do we rise above our past to become who we were meant to be?
