Some nights, the stars cry. Not with tears you can touch, but with light that pierces the darkness, tracing grief, love, hope, and everything in between. When The Stars Weep is a collection of poems for those who have felt themselves break and who dare to rise again. Within these pages, you will wander through the quiet ache of loss, the fire of passion, the tangled corridors of self-doubt, and the luminous moments of joy that make life worth every scar. Each poem is a constellation, a fragment of the human heart, a pulse of truth reaching into the deepest, most tender places of the soul. Split into four immersive sections; It Wasn't What I Wanted, I Only Fear Myself, What Is to Exist?, and It Can't All Be Painful. This collection navigates grief, love, fear, gratitude, and hope, revealing the subtle beauty that emerges when we live fully, even through pain. When The Stars Weep is for dreamers, heartbreakers, quiet observers, and resilient souls who understand that to break is not to fail. But to open yourself to the light that follows. Let this book sit with you, move you, and remind you that even in darkness, there is grace.
Autorenporträt
Hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Makitia Thompson is a storyteller who dives headfirst into the human experience, examining the fragile line between triumph and tragedy, the cost of fame, the ache of abandonment, and the shadowed corners of desire. For over a decade, she has crafted fictional autobiographies and interview-style narratives that peel back the polished surfaces of her characters, revealing the truths they'd rather keep buried. As the founder of Minds In Design, Thompson has built a creative hub dedicated to bold, boundary-pushing storytelling. Her company blends literature, visual art, and immersive world-building to challenge audiences to confront uncomfortable realities and discover self-reflection through honesty. Her oil and acrylic paintings often echo the emotional weight of her books, creating a visual bridge between her art forms. Starting her writing journey at just 11 years old, Thompson has spent years refining her craft, always circling back to one question: How do we rise above our past to become who we were meant to be?
