Where My Story Begins is a deeply personal and lyrical journey through memory, identity, and inherited love. In this debut collection, the author weaves poetry and prose that span generations. Each piece is an offering: to ancestors, to the mother who left everything behind, to the language that feels both like home and exile. Autorenporträt
Asees is a 17-year-old poet, storyteller, and voice of many roots. Her writing lives at the intersection of memory and identity, rooted in heritage, held together by language, and shaped by silence as much as speech. She writes to honor the people and places that shaped her, especially the quiet strength of her mother and the wisdom of her Nana Ji. When she's not writing, Asees can be found coaching gymnastics, going to school, or standing somewhere between two homes-heart in one hand, pen in the other.
