"Where The Nile Meets the Sea" is an exhilarating fictional adventure tale about a prehistoric journey along the mighty Nile River by two coming-of-age siblings, Geb and Lunah. Set in the Late Stone Age, they seek to find Ari, their missing friend, and fulfill their father's dream to reach lands beneath a mysterious star that never moves. With every bend in the river, the sibling's experiences and decisions can change the course of their destiny, leaving the reader eagerly anticipating what will happen next. The story begins in modern times with Ben, a university student who embarks on an international flight to Cairo, Egypt to research the mysterious origin of the Great Sphinx of Giza. His curiosity about the world comes from stories told to him by his beloved grandma during his youth. Warm interactions between young Ben and his grandmother are interwoven with the prehistoric tale. "Where the Nile Meets the Sea" is intended to inspire youth to spend more time outdoors as Geb and Lunah interact with nature, constellations, and the climate, and eventually battle characters who are one day revered as ancient Egyptian gods. The novel's underlying themes are unveiled in a story-ending, circle-of-life twist. At its core, "Where the Nile Meets the Sea" explores the search for meaning in life and the preservation of Earth for future generations. "Gunjaric's writing impresses with rich details, memorable scenes, and the symbolism she gives to natural elements, such as the North Star, a guiding landmark for the main characters. The novel offers an escape into a forgotten world, inviting us to reflect upon the connection between all humans and universal values that transcend time and space." --The Historical Fiction Company "This deftly crafted, prehistoric, and impressively original fantasy is a fun read from start to finish. The story of Geb and Lunah's battle for survival will especially appeal to young readers ages 8-18 and is an especially recommended pick for families, K-12 schools, and community/public library YA Fiction collections." --Midwest Book Review If you enjoy this novel, consider supporting Tree Aid, an international NGO supporting communities to tackle poverty and the climate crisis through the power of trees. Autorenporträt
"Where the Nile Meets the Sea"¿ is Andreja Gunjaric's debut novel. Andreja loves exploring planet Earth, its beautiful lands, and its diverse creatures. ¿She plans to write additional novels that bring to life the migratory route of Geb's descendants. Her next book will be titled "When the Stone Circles Align." The author's pen name is a tribute to her husband's grandfather's surname as it was spelled in the country from which he immigrated to the United States in the early 1900s (to be revealed in a future book). Andreja was inspired to write a debut novel during COVID lockdowns while researching genealogy and the migratory route she believes her husband's 23andMe paternal haplogroup traveled around the globe."Where the Nile Meets the Sea" will be the first of a six-book series. "When the Stone Circles Align" will be set in the British Isles and continental Europe during the Amber Trade Road around 300 BC and carry the tale of Geb and Lunah's descendants forward.Andreja worked for thirty years in finance, IT, and supply chain for international manufacturing corporations. Her professional and personal travels transported her to many countries in Europe, Asia, and North/Central America. However, to write "Where the Nile Meets the Sea," Andreja visited Northeast Africa virtually, carefully researching prehistoric lands with Geb and Lunah's each step forward.Andreja's writing is inspired as a cross between C.S. Lewis's fantasy adventure novels for youth and James A. Michener's adult historical fiction novels which detailed the lives of family generations in real-world geographies where the land and environment became characters, too. The author maintains a Project Management Professional certification and has earned B.S. degrees in Math and Economics and a master's degree in business, summa cum laude. She is thankful to her writer's critique group partners who helped hone her writing skills as each chapter of her debut novel progressed.Andreja and her husband enjoy hiking in many of Pennsylvania's beautiful state parks with their two-year-old chocolate lab and planting native flowers, plants, and trees to support wildlife on their home property. They are proud parents of an adult daughter and son. Thank you for reading!
