Christine Stretton was brought up as a Catholic in Halifax, West Yorkshire, where she still lives. At the age of fifteen, Christine began a hairdressing apprenticeship but soon decided that neither this vocation nor religion were her true calling. Later in life, however, Christine began reading about Buddhism and Sufism and developed an interest in meditation and psychic spiritualism. It was at this point that Christine began penning poetry, a hobby which flourished and culminated in the publishing of her work. She has also trained to become a qualified reiki practitioner. Christine is sixty-nine years old, the mother of two children and grandmother to a nine-year-old grandson. She has lived alone with her dog, Boo Boo, since her partner, Stuart, died in 2020.
