Iris is an Amsterdam-based editor who has worked for several newspapers and (online) magazines, both local and national. She has also worked for local radio station AmsterdamFM. She settled in the city during her journalism studies and knows it like the back of her hand, having lived in all its districts - even on a houseboat opposite Central Station. In addition to her own favourite spots in (and outside) the city, she rallied her friends to bring in more suggestions, making this guide a collaborative effort. With this, Iris hopes that you'll have a splendid time in Amsterdam. Chances are you'll spot her at one of the snack bars or traditional bars from this guide. Come and say hi if you do!
