* While traditional media struggles to keep up with the rapidly evolving world of fascists, white nationalists, and the far-right, journalist Shane Burley has stayed ahead of the curve, updating his readers' understanding of our political situation. Shane has also always been a purveyor of the "moral clarity" reporters are now touting as the answer to journalism's, and society's, woes. * Since Fascism Today was published, Shane has become an even more prolific journalist and sought-after interviewee for the progressive and mainstream media, including PBS, NBC News, the Guardian, The Daily Beast, Huffington Post, and more. His readership had expanded greatly and he maintains a constant public presence. * While antifascism remains at the center of this collection, the essays tackle such themes as popular music, climate crisis, free speech, violence, blackface controversies, professional sports, and more. * Given the continued prominence of violent far-right groups in this country, and with the recent news that Trump's department of justice is investigating "antifa" (the shortened form of "antifascist"), Shane's work-and his public presence as a voice of reason on the left-will remain popular. * However the election turns out in November, the movements that have exploded over the past four years didn't come out of nowhere, nor will they be going aways anytime soon. Our society will still need thinkers like Shane to show the way.
