John Thow is the author of WINGS LIKE EAGLES, a visual and narrative journey through the evolution of military aviation from its earliest days through the end of World War II. His lifelong passion for flight shines through in every photograph and illustration, capturing not only the airplanes themselves but also the people and stories behind them. As a lifelong aviation photographer and illustrator, John has spent decades documenting the aircraft, crews, and airfields that capture the spirit and evolution of military aviation. Through his studio, J. Thow Designs, he creates original artwork and high-impact visuals for posters, books, magazines, apparel, commemorative prints, and more. He combines traditional illustration techniques with modern digital tools, producing images known for their sharp detail, dynamic composition, and emotional depth.
