Stewart Farrar was born 28 June 1916, in London, England, son of bank official Frank Farrar and schoolteacher Agnes Farrar, nee Picken (a Scottish family). Stewart went to the City of London School and to University College, London, where he obtained a Diploma for Journalism, coming second in his year for the whole University.He has worked as an author, journalist, and scriptwriter for drama and documentary, for film, radio and television. Ever since, with thirteen books to his name, he also co-authored seven books with his wife, Janet Farrar, and then co-authored four books with Janet Farrar and Gavin Bone. His first three books were detective novels, and his fourth a romance. Since 1971 all of his books have been occult, whether fiction or non-fiction.On 19 July 1975 he married Janet Ewer, nee Owen. He and Janet moved to Ireland that year. Their books became increasingly well-known internationally within the occult movement, with the result that they have visited the United States of America by invitation every year since 1991. By 1995, the Farrars had been to twenty-eight of the fifty states, plus Washington D.C., and three Canadian provinces. They have been interviewed by press, radio and television in Ireland, England, Scotland, the USA, the Netherlands, and Germany.Stewart passed away 7 February 2000 after a brief illness.
