Autorenporträt
Cara Rabe-Hemp, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Criminal Sciences at Illinois State University. She has been actively engaged with organizations which support women in law enforcement agencies, including the National Association of Women Executives in Law Enforcement, the National Association of Women and Police, and the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board Executive Institute's Conference on Women in Criminal Justice. Rabe-Hemp has also published extensively in the area of women in law enforcement, including Thriving in an All-Boys Club: Female Police and Their Fight for Equality (Rowman & Littlefield, 2017). Venessa Garcia, PhD,is an associate professor of criminal justice at New Jersey City University. She has served as a deputy editor of Feminist Criminology since 2005; and has also published books with Rowman & Littlefield, including Crime, Media, and Reality: Examining Mixed Messages about Crime and Justice in Popular Media (with Samantha Arkerson, 2017) and Gendered justice: Intimate Partner Violence and the Criminal Justice System (with Patrick McManimon, 2011).
