Victor Prieto's doctoral dissertation in linguistics was from the University of Florida, where he served as an instructor of linguistics, Spanish, and English as a Second Language. He later chaired the Modern Languages and Linguistics Department at North Greenville University, SC, and currently is World Languages Department Chair at Cabrillo College in Aptos, CA.
