Thomas Denson is a multi-award winning educator with a passion for early literacy who has had an amazing career as a PreK and Kindergarten teacher for over 17 years. He has been Teacher of the Year twice for his school district, Semi-Finalist for the state of Tennessee, has won the SPARK award for education, coaches early literacy, has been named top 100 teachers nationwide by TNTP, and much more.His writing journey began in elementary school, where he wrote poems for Highlights magazine. When he is not creating children's books, he enjoys reading them to his students daily. The inspiration for his books comes directly from interesting questions his students have about the world around them. For example, one day during a lesson about animals and habitats, a student asked, "Are zebras born with black stripes?". This question sparked his picture book author journey with Zack's Brown Stripes. Thomas loves to educate, entertain, and engage with his stories so that families can feel connected, while giving them an opportunity to spend valuable time together.
