This book is an epic fantasy tale set in a mythical world where gods and mortals collide. The story follows Zaroc, a demigod born of the warlord Augustus III and the goddess Hera, whose cursed existence ignites a saga of exile, redemption, and conquest. The narrative opens in 326 BCE at the Battle of Hydaspes, where Augustus, a brilliant tactician and self-proclaimed "God of War," fights alongside Alexander the Great against King Porus. After Alexander's death, Augustus seizes control, building a vast empire from Babylon, reclaiming ten territories with an army of 1 million soldiers. However, his union with Hera produces Zaroc, a child with molten skin and golden eyes, whom Augustus rejects and attempts to burn on a pyre. Zaroc survives, marked as a divine outcast, and grows up unloved, honing his skills in Babylon's arenas against lions and Cyclopes. Tensions rise as Zaroc seeks the witch Lucinda, who prophesies his destiny to forge a new empire from "tundra and lava." Betrayed by his brother Darius, Zaroc is captured and put on trial, but his power erupts in the Kingdom Maximus Arena, where he defeats ten foes with silver wings and fire hands.
