Martin Kari was born in Transylvania during World War II and began life as a refugee in post-war Germany. His early experiences of displacement, resilience, and rebuilding shaped his outlook and inspired much of his writing. After completing both technical and higher education, Martin set out into the world with his family, gathering experiences across Europe, Asia, Africa, and beyond before finally settling in Australia in 1981.A multilingual author, Martin writes and publishes in both English and German, covering a wide range of genres including historical novels, autobiographies, philosophy, poetry, comedy, and children's literature. His books often explore courage, migration, cultural understanding, and the triumph of the human spirit.Martin's works have earned international recognition, including honors from Queen Elizabeth II and former German Chancellor Angela Merkel, as well as the Brentano Lyric Prize.
