Autorenporträt
Caroline Sutton is a therapist who practiced as a specialist nurse for many years, supporting children, young people, and families. She retrained as a psychotherapist and hypnotherapist and now runs a busy therapy practice, specialising in working with neurodivergent young people and those experiencing school-related anxiety. After meeting many families in therapy who were struggling with Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA), she was motivated to write this book to reframe how we understand this complex issue and to offer a more compassionate, supportive approach. Her professional expertise is deeply shaped by her lived experience as a neurodivergent parent of a young man with complex needs. Parenting through the challenges of school anxiety and navigating the education system has given Caroline a unique perspective and a strong commitment to helping other families feel seen, supported, and empowered.Caroline is passionate about changing the way we respond to EBSA and believes every child deserves compassion, safety, and the chance to thrive. Through her writing, therapy work, and advocacy, she brings together professional knowledge and personal insight to offer parents practical tools and, above all, hope.
