Barbiere, as a passionate practitioner, was a teacher, school administrator, assistant superintendent, superintendent, professor and school turnaround director committed to closing the achievement gap, positive student academic success, student empowerment, student self-regulation and teacher empowerment. He combined his practical knowledge with doctoral studies on brain-based teaching, lesson design and instructional delivery knowing that understanding the nature of the learner will promote teacher effectiveness.
