Autorenporträt
Brian Padjen writes stories the way some folks brew strong coffeeslowly, with intention, and always with a touch of grit. His work skips between comic drama, noir, and the kind of tales that ask you to sit down and reconsider everything you thought you knew about your own backyard. He holds master's degrees in English Literature and Psychology, which mostly means he's good at diagnosing fictional characters and debating metaphors with alarming enthusiasm. With eight novels, four novellas, and two poetry collections behind him, Brian's latest, Where the Land Listens, sinks its roots into the Mississippi Delta and asks what happens when a man stays put long enough to be changed by the place he meant to pass through. Brian lives in Wisconsin, plays guitar like he's keeping secrets from his strings, and believes fiction is just truth that's had a little fun. He dedicates this one to his daughter, Sadiewho moved west but left echoes in every page.
