Wendy Maartens

Wendy's first children's book was published in 2005 when she was a foundation phase teacher. In 2007, she bid farewell to teaching and became a full-time writer. Since then, she has written over 50 books for children and is considered one of the most successful children's book authors in South Africa. She resides in the Overberg with her cat and parrot. She enjoys gardening, bokkoms (salted and dried fish), figs, home-baked bread, and walking barefoot.

Nikè Bekker

Nikè Bekker is a freelance designer and illustrator who lives in Harrismith in the Free State with her husband and three children. Nikè has a degree in Drama as well as a postgraduate qualification in Animation and Screenwriting. In 2022, she was one of the winners of the South African chapter of the annual Picture This! illustration competition.
