Autorenporträt
The author Tim Daley has worked for more than 30 years in the oil business as a seismic interpreter employed in the quest for hydrocarbons resources around the world. After graduating with geology and geophysics degrees from Oxford and Durham, he has integrated seismic and bore hole information to understand oil plays where it is critical to imagine the story of how the rocks work, out of sight and under our feet, combining to create the conditions to trap hydrocarbons.

Extensive travel has included expatriate assignments in the USA, Indonesia, Pakistan, Venezuela and Tunisia and employment has ranged from multinational corporations down to small independents and across the whole industry cycle, from unexplored frontiers to mature producing fields. The time period has spanned several global oil price shocks which are the back drop to in-country political events.
