Otah finds himself as the sole hope of Saraykeht, either he stops the Galts, or the whole city and everyone in it perishes forever. DANIEL ABRAHAM has had stories published in the Vanishing Acts, Bones of the World, and The Dark anthologies, and has been included in Gardner Dozois's Year's Best Science Fiction anthology as well. A Shadow in Summer is his first novel. He is currently working on the Long Price Quartet, the second volume of which, Winter Cities, will be published in 2007. He lives in New Mexico with his wife.
