Marilyn Hering's father was a weaver at the Paterson silk mills, inspiring her to learn their history. She went on to publish A Woman Possessed, followed by its sequel A Woman Beloved, and later concluded the series with A Woman Endures. She lives in Harrington Park, New Jersey.
