Stop being intimidated by AI. Start understanding it and using it effectively.
We are living through an extraordinary moment: artificial intelligence is advancing faster than most people can keep up with. While organizations pour billions into AI initiatives, many struggle to turn hype into real business value. Why? Written by a veteran technologist who has helped organizations bridge the AI understanding gap for decades, it offers clear explanations, actionable insights, and real-world examples to build your confidence in this critical area.

What You'll Learn:

  • How AI systems really work, from simple algorithms to large language models
  • When and why to use different AI techniques and how to spot their limitations
  • Practical implementation strategies, from data collection to deployment
  • How to evaluate AI proposals, manage projects, and collaborate with technical teams
  • Responsible AI development and ethical considerations
  • How to position yourself and your organization to thrive in the AI-driven future

Who This Book Is For:

Business executives, project managers, consultants, product managers, students, and entrepreneurs... anyone who needs to make informed decisions about AI strategy and implementation.

Autorenporträt
Alan Knox brings over four decades of hands-on experience in technology development and implementation to the challenge of making artificial intelligence accessible to anyone curious about how these systems work. His career spans the evolution of computing from mainframes and early personal computers to modern AI systems, giving him a unique perspective on how transformative technologies become practical tools.

Alan began his technology journey while still in high school, programming for a Fortune 500 company in 1983. As an early adopter, he was among the first users of the internet at Georgia Tech in the late 1980s, witnessing how revolutionary technologies transition from research curiosities to production applications.

Since then, he has worked across the full spectrum of technology roles, from R&D Engineer and Web Developer to Professor and Chief Operating Officer, gaining deep insight into both technical implementation and practical application. His early work with machine learning, vision, and robotics in the 1990s positioned him at the forefront of AI long before it became mainstream.

Throughout his career, Alan has built everything from real-time operating systems and database management systems to modern AI applications, always focusing on creating solutions that deliver real value. Recently, he developed the "Production-Ready AI Solution Framework" in response to the industry challenge that over 80% of AI projects never make it to production.

His diverse experience includes roles as Engineer, Service Manager, and Educator, reflecting his belief that the most effective technology solutions emerge from understanding both technical possibilities and real-world constraints, and that complex concepts should be explained in ways that anyone can understand and apply.

Alan holds a Master of Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech and maintains certifications including AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Machine Learning Specialty, and IBM Machine Learning Specialist - Professional. He was recently recognized by DataStax as an "AI Hero" for his work with AI applications and data platforms.

A passionate advocate for lifelong learning, Alan believes that curiosity and continuous education are essential in a rapidly evolving technological landscape. He lives in the Raleigh, North Carolina area, where he continues to explore emerging technologies and their practical applications.
