Al-Kafi fi al-Lughah is one of the most prominent linguistic works of the early twentieth century. It is a unique work by Taher al-Jaza'iri, who sought to bring the origins of the Arabic language and its rules closer to the reader and student in a systematic, easy-to-understand manner. The book begins with an eloquent sermon and then moves on to an in-depth explanation that covers the origins of the language, the rules of morphology, derivation, weights, structures, and related meanings and connotations, while drawing precise comparisons between the methods of organizing Arabic dictionaries. To clarify the rules and consolidate them in the mind, al-Jaza'iri relied on Quranic texts, Prophetic hadiths, and clear examples, avoiding difficult and unfamiliar terms, distinguishing between the eloquent and the most eloquent. The book concludes with a practical summary of three main rules, which serves as a concise introduction that enables students and researchers to grasp and apply morphological rules with ease. It is a work that combines depth and clarity, and serves as a paving bridge towards understanding the major books on the language.
