The French philosopher and writer Albert Camus won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1957 when he was forty-four years old. He was famous for his intellectual battles with the French philosopher and writer Jean-Paul Sartre, and his novel "The Stranger" achieved great popularity in which he discussed the alienation of twentieth-century man, and his book "The Myth of Sisyphus" was a faithful reflection of his existential philosophy. However, history judged Camus as a philosopher of mediocre value and a leftist divided against himself. Even worse, he was a defender of French colonialism in Algeria.
