It's modern times (as modern as they ever get) in the pointy churched sleepy village of Privett in Hampshire, ye Olde England. No one believes in goblins any more. That doesn't stop them causing mischief! Once every 70 years the goblin king who lives under the Old Bookshop in Petersfield sends out scouts to find a replacement human puppy to kidnap. Alexander looks like the perfect candidate. A funny story with drama and plot twists. (Includes a cameo appearance by the writer Jane Austen as herself.) Who says it's just for kids?

Autorenporträt
Zsolt Kerekes is the author of four rural fantasy books for children, one of which - Jamie and the Tree Troll: a legend of the South Downs in Sussex - has seemingly crossed over genres from kidlit to folklore. In 2025, he will publish a speculative novel for adults called The Goblins are Coming!

Born in Budapest, Hungary in 1956 and raised in 1960s Brighton, England, Kerekes now lives in the village of East Chiltington, in East Sussex.

Before writing fiction, he spent 27 years editing tech guides and market data for the computer market.
