Autorenporträt
I was born on December 26, 1959, and I am an American author of fiction. My wife and I were both born and raised in southern Illinois, and together we have three daughters who have been a great inspiration for the characters I write about. I'm also an avid deer hunter and a gun enthusiast, and these passions often find their way into my novels. My father's name was Leonard, so I adopted it as my pen namein his honor. I grew up in a small town in southern Illinois, but spent three years livingin Virginia before returning home. I'm married, and my three daughters have influenced me greatly-so much so that the main character in my books is often a female. When I was writing my first book, I was babysitting my oldest granddaughter. There were moments when I had to type with one hand while she sat on my lap, which made the experience even more special. My books are fiction and don't reflect on my personal life, but they are shaped by my experiences and the people who have inspired me along the way.
