Produktbeschreibung
After an ambush by members of chaos organization The Crown, investigator Kai Taylor is accidentally teleported to another dimension - a world where everything is just slightly off. A world where duplicate versions of the people in our realm exist, but with different life paths. Here, he learns the double of his lover, Hunter Reeves, is a talented musician with deadlier talents hidden beneath the surface. When a demon with the ability to traverse dimensions and kill on contact breaks into our realm, Kai and The Order are tasked with finding and stopping the ever-growing threat, which involves asking the alternate-world Hunter and his bandmates for help. However, the other realm's version of Hunter appears to have an agenda of his own and won't think twice about opting for brutality to achieve his goals.

Praise for Alternate Tracks:

If you like queer romance, secret organizations, chaotic polycules, and lots of sarcastic flirting mixed with visceral horror, this is your book. It's not a subtle book. But it's a fun one. Bold, sexy, weird, and somehow heartfelt-Alternate Tracks doesn't just bite, it leaves a mark. (Thomas Anderson, Literary Titan)

Autorenporträt
Chase McPherson is an author currently living in North Alabama, blending elements of speculative fiction, psychological horror, queer fiction, and body horror in what he calls "genrefluid" projects to tell stories that are deeply humaneven when the characters aren't.

Chase's work often explores themes of loss, regret, identity, and the long shadows cast by trauma. His stories lean into the discomfort of transformation, the horror of helplessness, and the beauty of vulnerability. Whether through supernatural possession, demonic pacts, or teeth that grow endlessly overnight, his characters face truths they can't ignore and fears they can't outrun.

While his work may delve into unsettling territory, Chase believes that horror is most powerful when it comes from a place of honesty. He wants readers to squirm a little, yesbut more than anything, he hopes they recognize something familiar in the lives of the haunted, the hunted, or the monstrous. No matter how strange or terrifying things get, there's always a human heartbeat beneath the surface.

Chase has been telling stories since childhood, starting with a Beverly Cleary-style chapter book in elementary school. His passion for storytelling was nurtured by his late grandmother, a high school librarian whose love of books left a lasting legacy. Today, he writes full-time and publishes under his own label, , named after his first major series.

He lives with his husband, Tyler, and their three chaotic, beloved cats: Belle, Nate, and Simba. When he's not writing, you can usually find him rewatching Carrie for the hundredth time, quoting Serial Mom in polite company, or recharging with a good black comedy.
