Produktbeschreibung
  • Kids will delight in the passing of the seasons as they follow a little girl's relationship with her favorite tree, and her dog.
    • Let's hear it for science: Although this is the story of Rosa and her tree, STEM content is seamlessly woven into the narrative. Kids will learn the life cycle of a tree and the stages of fruit growth.
    • Tree as constant: Rosa's tree remains at the center of this tale, while a year's worth of human and animal activity swirls around it. And while the tree never moves, the rhythm of seasonal cycles provides constant motion. The theme of constancy and change imbues every page.
    • Appealing art: Brian Fitzgerald's lush art reinforces the concept of the tree's verdant fertility, while the portrayal of Rosa's family is accessible and charming.
    • Cumulative stanza form: The stanzas are written loosely based on The House that Jack Build cumulative structure which is perfect for modeling in creative writing.
    • Spanish Language Learning: Text contains occasional common Spanish language words alongside the English equivalents which adds cultural depth and provides exposure to beginning language learners
    • More science: Back matter includes non fiction spread explaining the fruiting life cycle of an apple tree, plus a recipe for apple sauce to be done with adult supervision
