Under the pseudonym Captain Dunry, the famous French military and political figure Emile Auguste Cyprien Drian (1855-1916), a hero of the First World War, a general and a talented writer, published his fantastic "war scenarios". Born into a notary's family, he graduated from the prestigious military school of Saint-Cyr, served as an infantry lieutenant, and then went to Africa, where he was an adjutant to General Boulanger. Having married his daughter, Drian made a successful military career, but did not abandon literary creativity. He wrote books in which the art of war was intertwined with fantastic forecasts of future wars. He died in the battle of Verdun in 1916, leaving a significant legacy in the genre of military science fiction. This edition presents his novel "Aviator of the Pacific Ocean", the action of which takes place at the beginning of the 20th century. Midway Island is under siege by Japanese cruisers.
