Holding degrees in B.Sc, M.Phil, and DBA, he has made significant contributions as the head of research almost throughout his career. Beginning in 1980, he worked for several large companies such as China Light & Power, the HK Productivity Center, Levesque Securities, Dao Heng Securities, Yamaichi Securities, and the Core Pacific-Yamaichi International. Notably, he is credited with coining the terms 'Red Chips' and 'Red Chip Index' in 1992. Transitioning from his finance career, Dr. Tang embraced a new chapter by dedicating a decade to sharing his wealth of knowledge as a part-time lecturer at HK Baptist University. His specialized focus on technical analysis has proven invaluable for students navigating the intricacies of this field. Among Dr. Tang's recent accomplishments is the publication of "Essentials of Technical Analysis," a comprehensive undergraduate-level textbook, underscoring his commitment to education. Currently residing in Vancouver, Canada, alongside his wife, Dr. Tang remains active in the community, notably at the Pacific Grace MB Church, conveniently located on 1st Avenue East.
