David Michael Andre is the great grandson of this book's matriarch Mary Jo Rodrigues. He graduated from San Jose State University with a bachelor's degree in journalism and worked at Bay Area Fox TV affiliate KTVU. He has written for both newspapers and magazines and has his own online blog called "Brushed by Fame."
