Big data comes from many sources, including transaction processing systems, customer databases, documents, emails, medical records, Internet clickstream logs, mobile apps, and social networks. It has gained significant popularity and application in various industries, including finance, architecture, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, transportation, supply chain, media and entertainment, oil and gas, space exploration, maritime industry, and the military.

This book is an extension or supplement to a former book, where 16 applications of big data are covered. In this book, we cover additional 11 big data applications. Matthew N. O. Sadiku is presently a Regents professor emeritus of electrical and computer engineering at Prairie View A&M University, Prairie View, TX. He is the author of over 1,500 professional papers and over 160 books. He is a Life Fellow of IEEE. His current research interests are in the areas of computational electromagnetic, computer science/networks, engineering education, and marriage counseling.
